Innovation event: Sufficient clean water, for now and later
Juli 2 - 12:30 pm - 6:00 pm
Water quality in the Netherlands must improve. Not only nature, but also our drinking water supply is under pressure. This calls for system, technology and behavioral innovations.
Are you curious about the latest insights from TU Delft research and practice on how we can organize our water system differently? Or are you working on a solution or innovation and want to get feedback or meet potential partners? Then come to our innovation event on Wednesday July 2 at The Green Village at TU Delft!
For whom? During this innovation event we bring together science, policy and practice to work together for sufficient clean water, for now and later*. Whether you are an innovator, entrepreneur, policy maker, researcher or consultant – if you work on water quality or are interested in a future-proof water system, you are welcome.
Program
The preliminary program can be found below. In addition to knowledge sharing and inspiration, there will be active sub-sessions focusing on solutions around various aspects of the water system. The partial sessions:
Take an innovation tour of The Green Village and discover different solutions that can measure and improve water quality;
Play the serious game Sudsbury 2.0 with Lisa Scholten (TU Delft) on the effects of urbanization and climate change on the water cycle and potential solutions;
Vewin and Unie van Waterschappen; What is the state of clean and sufficient water in the Netherlands? Noa Maria Hartog takes you through what has been achieved in 2024 and what still needs to be done in the coming years (spoiler alert: water quality);
Klaar van Etten of the Province of South Holland outlines the context of the state of affairs of the circular water chain in South Holland. Then we zoom in on a practical case study with Mark Rotteveel: how do you get the water system circular at the house level? His pilot house in Boskoop is saving 90% drinking water and 40% less waste water through innovative systems such as Hydraloop and Mijnwaterfabriek’s SafeWater system.
After the sessions there will be a closing drink with innovation market.
