The BK-Launch Startup Voucher is a grant of maximum €2.500,- available for students at the TU Delft to help turn ideas into business within the Built Environment. The grant does not have to be repaid if it is spent for the purpose and in line with the conditions set out below.

The BK-Launch Startup Voucher is intended to give entrepreneurial minded TU Delft students the opportunity to cover the first costs of developing an innovative idea into a business proposition. With the Startup Voucher the BK-Launch hopes to contribute to fulfilment of one of the main valorisation goals: stimulating and supporting entrepreneurship.

With the Startup Voucher we lower the financial barrier for finding out if innovative ideas generated during studies can be turned into a viable business and a career as an entrepreneur. With this instrument, BK-Launch aims at scouting, creating and supporting startups and entrepreneurs.

The Startup Voucher can be granted to natural persons that meet the following conditions:

  • He/she has an innovative idea, solving challenges in the Built Enviroment, and the ultimate goal to start a business based on this idea.
  • He/she is a student at the Delft University of Technology or has graduated at the TU Delft for up to 6 months before application.
  • He/she nor anyone else working on the same project has ever received a TU Delft Startup Voucher for this project.
  • Any other conditions set by the Innovation & Impact Centre or the applicant’s faculty.

You will be coached by a professional within BK-Launch.

Application process

The BK-Launch Startup Voucher can be awarded in two ways:

  1. During the yearly general application period (October).
To apply for the BK-Launch Startup Voucher, one must fill in an application form describing the idea and the plan to develop and/or test this idea. After handing in the application form, your application will be reviewed by a committee. If your plan is approved and meets the minimum requirements you will be invited to sign a Startup Voucher contract including the conditions specified below, after which the funds will be transferred to your personal bank account. After the project is finished you are required to hand in a report on the realisation of your plans.
  2. As part of the BK-Launch design studio (AR0144, Faculty of Architecture & the Built Environment): At the end of the course all participating students present their concepts, designs and entrepreneurial plans to a jury. This jury consists of the responsible tutors and two representatives of the official BK-Launch partners. At the end of the final presentation day, the jury determines which ideas will be awarded with the BK-Launch Startup Voucher.
