New purpose for building Julianalaan 67

The distinctive building on Julianalaan 67, currently owned by TU Delft, is set to receive a new purpose. Originally built in 1919, the building was historically used for education and research in Technical Botany. In recent years, it has been best known as the home of Robohouse. In February 2025, Robohouse will relocate to the southern part of the campus. This move marks the starting point for exploring new uses for the building.

A purpose that suits the neighbourhood

With more efficient use of space, shared facilities, and modern requirements for education and research, TU Delft is reducing its own square footage. As a result, TU Delft intends to sell the building at Julianalaan 67 in the coming years. Before this happens, various ideas and possibilities for repurposing the building will be explored. The new purpose should not only be practical but also align well with the neighbourhood, its residents, and the use of the botanical garden. In the meantime, company Fleetcleaner will remain in the building, and vacancy management firm VPS will ensure that other office users can temporarily occupy the space. This way, the building will not remain empty while awaiting a new owner.

Register for the first participation meeting May 20

Due to it’s key position between the city and the campus, we want to work together with the neighborhood to explore possible new uses for the site that align with both the local area and the Hortus Botanicus. We will do this through a series of meetings. The first meeting will take place on Tuesday, May 20, from 7:30 PM to 9:30 PM (doors open at 7:00 PM). The meeting will be held at TU Delft Hortus Botanicus, Poortlandplein 6, 2628 BM Delft.

During the meeting, we will provide information about the process and the overall planning, the cultural and historical value of the building, as well as the qualities and opportunities of the location.

We are interested to hear the ideas that exist within the neighborhood and look forward to engaging in conversation.
The meeting will be supported by Vakwerk Architecten, who are also based in the area.

Registration
You can register for the first meeting until Thursday, May 15 via this link.
