Research Facilities

There is plenty of room for innovation on campus. There are labs, fieldlabs and makerspaces where innovations for the future are being extensively tested. By testing sustainable innovations on campus, we are creating the ‘Campus as a Living Lab’ and facilitating a testing environment for scaling up innovations for carbon neutrality, circularity and climate adaptation.

Labs

On its campus, TU Delft has a wide range of research facilities. These facilities are unique in the Netherlands and are used to conduct research for business and industry. They range from wind tunnels, a chip facility, high-voltage laboratory and nuclear reactor to serious gaming and product evaluation.

Fieldlabs

Our field labs and innovation clusters bring together researchers, students, entrepreneurs and companies and enable them to accelerate innovation. Thanks to the close involvement of researchers, the industry, government agencies and end-users, these innovations can be brought to society faster.

Makerspaces

The TU Delft Campus Makerzones are spaces where entrepreneurs, startups and businesses can bring their ideas to life. The Makerzone offers a broad range of advanced equipment and is accessible with a monthly membership that includes access to all resources.

Campus as a living lab

By testing sustainable innovations on campus, we bring the ‘Campus as a Living Lab ’ concept to life by enabling a real-world test environment for scaling up innovations in CO₂ neutrality, circularity and climate adaptation.
