Makerspace Delft
Makerspace Delft is a non-profit co-working space that helps entrepreneurs bring their ideas to life. Our mission is to make prototyping tools, machinery and mentorship affordable for everyone. Our innovative workshop is intended for makers embarking on small or individual engineering projects.
ACTlab Open lab
During the Open Lab hours, you can work independently in the ACTlab. ACTlab is short for Arts, Crafts and Technology lab. It is a place to experiment and design, transforming your designs into something tangible. The lab brings people together from different disciplines, including craftspeople, artists, designers and academics. Not only can you work independently in the lab, you can also do VR gaming.
Makerlab Science Centre
This makerspace offers a large project room with tables and a machine room including laser cutters and some woodworking machines. The Makerlab Science Centre also has 3D printers available. We are open to students who want to work on personal projects, student teams, artists and course projects. We are located in the TU Delft Science Centre on the TU Delft Campus. As a student, you pay for material use when you use the makerspace.
Faculty Workshop
In the Faculty Workshop (FW), after following the FW instructions, ME students can make workpieces and models from metal and plastic themselves on the available processing equipment (turning and milling machines, drilling machines, welding machines and sheet metal working machines). Materials for machining, mounting parts and hand tools are provided (within limits). Laser cutting of plastic and metal, 3D printing and CNC milling in aluminum is carried out by IWS employees on request. Wearing safety clothing is mandatory when you come to work at the FW.
Model Hall
The model hall with its facilities plays a central role within the education of the faculty. It is used intensively by our students during all stages of their studies. The west side of the hall houses the traditional woodwork facilities. The east side is occupied by the Computer Aided Manufacturing or CAM-lab. Both play an important role in education, research and model making. The infinite possibilities of combining these old and new techniques keep modelling interesting and valuable to every user of our facilities.
The Model Making and Machine Lab (PMB)
The Model Making and Machine Lab (PMB) is intended for manufacturing prototypes and models. Most PMB-rooms are located at the IDE faculty’s ground floor. There is a substantive workplace in the basement of the building (flexruimte). The materials shop is also located in the basement.
